Hovis is proud to support The Bread and Butter Thing (TBBT), a charity helping to make life more affordable for people on low incomes while reducing food waste across the UK.
From April 2025 to 31 January 2026, Hovis unlocked approximately 53 tonnes of surplus food across three Hovis sites, with more locations scheduled to join the partnership during 2026. This surplus redistribution is equivalent to around 127,000 meals, or about 66,800 loaves of bread, that's roughly 1.34 million slices of toast.¹
By working together, we're feeding families while avoiding an estimated 134 tonnes of CO₂e that would otherwise have been associated with food waste disposal.²

TBBT supports more than 100,000 people every week through its network of affordable food clubs across the UK. Through this partnership, Hovis is helping TBBT reach more communities by making surplus food available from our sites.

We've teamed up with Magic Breakfast to donate 1.5 million breakfasts, which is the equivalent to 150,000 loaves of bread. Magic Breakfast is a registered charity that makes a difference to over 300,000 children and young people every day by offering breakfasts and expert advice to tackle morning hunger in schools across England and Scotland. Magic Breakfast exist to make sure every child has the nourishing breakfast they need to learn and thrive.

With every computer donated helping around 18 students learn IT skills, thanks to our donation almost 1000 students will be able to learn vital IT skills. Beyond this the environmental impact from our donation will offset 15 tonnes of CO2 emissions, which is the equivalent of planting 38 trees, or offsetting the annual carbon footprint of 2 Britons. The embodied energy savings created are also enough to power 4 UK homes for an entire year!
